Life is Sweet

Amidst the beautiful and curated photos we have with people commenting #relationshipgoals #couplegoals #perfectfamily, I began to reflect if is it worth the hashtag and praise from strangers. Or is this even real?

I’ve realised that marriage itself means so many things, it can be amazing, a wonderful feeling, heartbreaking, difficult at times, exciting in most cases, peaceful, weird, joyful, infuriating and yes comforting in so many levels. It takes a lot of work to make a marriage last. So how do we keep everything in order?

Every year I always keep tabs on what happened for the past 12 months, sometimes I share it on the blog but most of the time I keep it to myself but this year we decided to commit to a certain goal, a vision for 2019 for our marriage and family.

I realised that setting goals together as a couple requires you to work as a team and Jul always refers to me as his team mate and everytime we fight he always points out that I should be a good team player and we should put our minds towards a common purpose and goal.

So how do we that? We set realistic goals and always make sure we are flexible. I keep a positive outlook towards our goal but not too clingy to not let go if it doesn’t work on our favor.

We take a break and time out to reevaluate our goals and redesign our plan if necessary.

Shit happens and sometimes we get off track, the blame game happens and that’s where everything becomes bumpy, but always remember you need to get back on track as soon as possible and make accommodations if a curve ball is thrown your way.

And yes, this is my favorite part. We always don’t forget to celebrate our accomplishments. We always make room for a date night, we go somewhere new or even travel together family.

Setting your goals and visions as a couple improves a lot of things. It will make you work on a common goal and makes you better understand each other, chances are, you can share your dreans and desire for your family and it will lead you to a more fulfilling and happy marriage.
