How can you not love gelato?

I fondly remember my love affair with gelato started when my family ate at an Italian restaurant that served one of the best gelato that I have ever tasted.  My aunt used to make one for us and then came all the tiny shops that offer different kinds of gelato, some stick to the decent gelato flavour while some has disappointed my tastebuds.  I am not really an authority in food tasting but I have my own preference and when I spot a good gelato there is no stopping me from visiting the place all the time.

I was one of the first people who tasted Giardiano Gelato when they opened their doors in SM Seaside City last February and luckily I was also one of the few people who was able to get a sneak peek at their kitchen and watched them made a fresh batch of gelato and sorbet.

Giardino Gelato is more than a gelato stand but a store that offers that classic Italian ambiance.  The spacious place is flooded with that homey feel which reflects off a tiny street in Italy.  Everything looks and feels that you are strolling around Sicily.

Hailing from Davao, Giardino Gelato offers everything delicious, Ms. Tess Songco of Giarnido Gelato, welcomed us and shared her passion for gelato and how she spent a good part of trying to capture that perfect gelato taste. Their branch at SM Seaside Cebu is their very first branch outside Davao and they offer various kinds of flavour such as dark chocolate, nutella, salted caramel, cotton candy, pistachio and many more.

They create one of the most creamiest gelato made from fresh ingredients using a Carpigiani ice cream machine, I was surprised that it only takes three simple steps;

1. Cook the ice cream base in the pasteurizer.
2. Churn the gelato in the Carpigiani machine.
3. And lastly freeze the gelato.

But trust me, you should taste the gelato fresh from their machine because it is very heavenly, it was so creamy!

They also shared and showed us how their Mango sorbet was made.  Made from fresh fruits, sugar and water this dessert is perfect for any who are lactose tolerant.  The sorbet was just perfect even with the absence of milk. And aside from their yummy gelato, they also serve coffee, I have found my new favourite which is their Affogato the perfect combination of the bitterness of coffee plus the sweetness and creamy gelato.

If you are after tasting the creamiest and most authentic gelato in variety of yummy flavour, I would highly recommend Giardino Gelato, it has won my love for gelato.  With their captivating ambiance, you can enjoy your cup or cone of heaven and turn your visit into an instgrammable or memorable experience.
