Since I started blogging, I was able to discover a bountiful thing about the blog world. What used to be a stranger to you, can be your closest online friend. That is how magical blogging can be. I was able to find amazing confidants that always lifts up my spirit every time I feel so low. The ones who cares for you a thousand times fold compared to your list of Facebook friends. These bloggers does not only come in the different parts of the world, but they also rocked in their own forte. I have already featured a number of gorgeous ladies that made a significant part of my blogging life. The ones that were kept for good times, the ones that molded into a deep relationship and yes the ones that were always there for me through blog times or blog hiatus.
With this experience, I do not only feature the fashion forward ladies but also their blogs have something in it. Not just photographs, videos or compilation of scanned images but it talks about their life, makes me want to know them more and of course knowing that they are real people also. I have gained a lot of close relationships through blogging and one of those is my next Favorite Blog Awardee.
If traveling is my third passion then I would not hesitate to travel with her. She has seen mostly the great places in my favorite cities and when I am talking about great, those are the grand and magical ones. She became one of my inspiration to work hard so that in the end I could take glorious steps in those places that she has been to. Her love for traveling did not stop her from making a fashion blog for herself. She is simple, witty with a smashing taste in being subtle in fashion. I love her optimism when it comes to dressing up, she does not follow trends but still she can rock a fab travel ensemble or a simple daily outfit.
Her love for nature and the arts also paved in her love for fashion. She does not dress up for anything else but for herself alone. Let me introduce to you someone who I look up to, her amazing support for my blog and in every endeavor I get myself into is so rewarding and it makes me work hard more. She is a stay-at-home-wife that can rock the house with her appealing personality, say hello to the lovely Cheryl of Dressing up For Me. She also has another blog which features her expeditions, Adventures of a Pinay Neska was the first blog I visited and got in loved with.
She was very nice to answer my interview and I am so thrilled to feature her. She is one of the top 3 gorgeous ladies that will be my installment feature for this week. Know her more and discover the reason why I look up to her.
Sweet: Can you briefly tell us about yourself?
Cheryl: A stay-at-home wife who loves traveling, arts, fashion and anything in-between. I´m a ¨preppy- casual – bordering on minimalist¨ dresser who most of the time loves to pile on the bling. A clothes hoarder who doesn´t always follow trends. ( Is that even possible? 😉 )
Sweet: How did you get into blogging?
Cheryl: I´ve been reading a lot of blogs for years now and I liked what I saw. They´re so entertaining and blogs give you a lot of ideas about fashion, traveling and about everything there is under the sun. Reading blogs made me see ( albeit virtually) places that I would only dream of visiting and also I got to know a lot of people from different cultures in a more personal level. In my case, I created a blog to share my travel photos which later on branched out into a ¨what I was wearing/ where I´ve been/cheap finds¨ blog.hahaha!
Sweet: If you had to describe your blog in less than 20 words how would describe it?
Cheryl: Lighthearted, colorful, funny, witty( I hope so!) and not complicated.
Sweet: How long have you been blogging?
Cheryl: More than a year, I started with a travel blog which branched out into ¨ fashion blog¨. Actually, this is my 2nd blog. It´s a ¨What -I -Wore¨ blog with other interests thrown in like photos from my trips, food and my latest cheap finds from the sales or from the thrift shop.
Sweet: Is this a full time job?
Cheryl: No, this is just a hobby bordering on obsession (just kidding!) 🙂
Sweet: In what category can you qualify your blog?
Cheryl: Maybe a fashion and sometimes a mini-travel bog? I don´t pretend to be fashion savvy because I´m not. I just want to look nice and be comfortable with what I´m wearng when I step out into the street. I do like pretty things though but they aren´t pricey.
Sweet: How many blogs do you have?
Cheryl: 2, the other one is a travel blog
Sweet: What are some of your goals this year for your blog?
Cheryl: To reach out to other readers/ bloggers who have the same interests like mine and meet more friends everywhere in the world through the blogosphere!
Sweet: Where do you find inspiration for you outfit post?
Cheryl: From the other fashion related sites and from all of the fashion bloggers out there.
Sweet: How does your workplace look like?
Cheryl: Right now, very cluttered because we´re moving.
Sweet: What advice would you give to new bloggers wanting to start their own blogs?
Cheryl: Be yourself, don´t try to be anything else. Most important of all, TRY TO COMMENT BACK if someone leaves a comment on your blog. Returning a favor can start a long lasting blog friendship and maybe more than that. 🙂
